Dr. Lori Christian D.C., C.C.S.P. grew up in a family that was only oriented toward traditional medicine. As a teenager, she injured both knees and was told she would be disabled for the rest of her life. She began chiropractic care, changed her lifestyle and belief system, maintained a positive attitude, better nutrition and exercise. Dr. Christian is living proof that given the opportunity, the body would heal itself.
Initially, Dr. Christian intended to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps in occupational therapy, but she changed paths in college when she realized her passion was in chiropractic care. That was 34 years and thousands of patients ago.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Human Biology, Dr. Christian attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri where she became Doctor of Chiropractic in 1985. She then attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota where she earned her degree as a National Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. Dr. Christian is also trained and endorsed by the Chiropractic Hand and Foot Clinics of America.
Dr. Christian is excited to be the Beachwood affiliate of Disc Centers of America. Because Dr. Christian is an advocate for non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical options, she is thrilled to offer this cutting edge and very comfortable alternative to spinal injections and surgery.
Non-invasive Spinal Decompression has been shown to reduce pain from disc herniation, stenosis and arthritis in the spine as well as increase disc height. It is Dr. Christian’s mission and calling to help heal her patients’ injured spines, nerves and discs, one individualized treatment at a time.
Well-versed in several techniques of spinal and extremity manipulation, Dr. Christian has treated professional athletes from the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns as well as countless amateur athletes in the Northeastern Ohio area.
Dr. Christian’s approach is to consider each patients’ needs as unique. One size does not fit all when it comes to care at Disc Centers of America – Beachwood. She looks at the whole person including their nutrition, exercise and other stressors that could be contributing to pain and discomfort.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” -Thomas Edison
